About Baruch Davidoff and his letters
From 13 Jan 2016 to 29 Oct 2026, almost every week, Baruch Davidoff sent the whole family a letter, nearly always headed “Gut Shabbos”. Each one opens “Dear Family”, often followed by “I hope everyone is well”, and most were sent on a Thursday night, in time for Shabbos.
Into each letter went a thought on the week’s parsha or the coming Yom Tov, often a story or teaching of the Rebbe, and, in most letters, the family itself: birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, births, weddings and yahrzeits, remembered by name, with a Mazal Tov. Over 11 years that came to 556 letters and 1108 mazal tovs.
The letters are kept here exactly as he wrote them (only quoted replies and signatures removed), each filed under the parsha of the Shabbos it was written for, together with the diagrams, notes and essays that were attached to them.
He is also the author of Studying Rambam, an English companion series to the Rambam’s Mishneh Torah.
