THE JOY OF HOLY MUSIC
Dear Family,
Hope you are all well.
Mazal Tov to Sarita on your birthday in far off Australia. You are still close to our heart though Sarita! Have a wonderful day tomorrow.
Mariasha I think your birthday is Adar Beis. Correct me if I am wrong.
Mazal Tov to Hirshy for completing the Marathon. Amazing. This is not an easy thing to do and it takes a lot of hard work and training. Well done Hirshy.
So we are now more than a week into Adar, and this year there are 2 Adars because it is a Leap Year..
The Rebbe has mentioned that 2 Adar gives us the opportunity to have 60 days of SIMCHA (JOY) instead of the normal 30!
There are now 5 weeks left before Purim and I thought it may be nice to look at 5 aspects of Simcha, one on each week.
And I thought to do this in the following order:
1. The Joy of Holy Music
2. The Joy of Bar Mitzva
3. The Joy of Chassana
4. The Joy of Muscle
5. The Joy of the Sublime and the Ridiculous
6. PURIM!
So this week is the JOY OF HOLY MUSIC, and in honour of our new Choson Avi, who loves PIANO music, I am attaching some Lubavitch Nigunim, by the pianistYaron Gershovsky.
I couldn't open particular full niggunim, and could only find this medley.
It should give one a little taste.
ENJOY.

And if you still have time, here is an interesting point from this weeks Sedra, Tetzave..
Moshe Rabeinu was born this month on 7th Adar, and he passed away on the same day.
However in this weeks Parsha, which is in the same week as these 2 events, Moshe's name is not even mentioned once!? (Moshes name is mentioned in every single Parsha from his birth in Parsha Shemos, all the way through to his monologue in the Book of Devarim, EXCEPT THIS PARSHA!
In this Parsha he is only referred to in the second or third person.
Why?
It could be said that the reason for this is that it was from this point that Moshe was no longer with us.
But it is much deeper than this.
The Rebbe explains that it says in Zohar that a Tzadik who has passed away, is MORE PRESENT, even in this world, than he was before his passing.
The Tzadik's Soul is no longer restricted by the Physical Body.
He can no longer be seen, but his influence is far greater for those who want to draw Spiritual Life and Inspiration.
That is why his name is not in the Parsha direct, but one knows he is there because he is referred to in the second and third person.
The influence of Moshe Rabeinu is still with us day by day through the Centuries, and we can connect with him through Torah Study.
Wishing everyone a Gut Shabbos, and HAPPINESS IN EVERY DAY OF ADAR AND BEYOND.
