JOY CONTINUED - CHASSANAH AND TRUE LOVE
Dear Family,
Hope everyone is well.
Mazal Tov to Daniella on her upcoming birthday. I was thinking about you this week Daniella as I watched the big group of C Teens in Time Square on Motzei Shabbos, and was wondering if you were also there. Have a wonderful Year.
So we continue with our theme of SIMCHA in the 60 days of ADAR heading towards Purim, and this week we look at the aspect of THE JOY OF CHASSANA AND TRUE LOVE.
In the attached video we can see the JOY OF DANCING AND MUSIC (in this case I would say, well behaved, controlled Joy).
ENJOY!

In relation to MARRIAGE AND TRUE LOVE, I saw an interesting story in a Book called 'A Happy Home' which is extracted advices from The Rebbe for Happiness in Marriage and including Stories. It is an excellent and easy to read book.
The story I saw was of a teenage girl who was having a private audience (yichud) with the Rebbe.
Due to misconceptions about the true meaning of love, she was failing to find a suitable marriage partner, and this together with other reasons, caused her to request this private audience.
And she revealed the contents of the meeting:
'The Rebbe asked me about my courses, my professors and my plans for the future. Then to my great surprise he asked me about my very personal plans about marriage.... The Rebbe smiled broadly and asked my opinion about a specific young man etc..and some other men who she had actually met....I was totally overwhelmed....I just shook my head and blushingly explained why each one was not the right one for me.
Then the Rebbe chuckled lightly and told me that I read too many books. How did he know? But he did know.
Love he explained to me , is not that which is portrayed in romantic novels.
It isn't that overwhelming, blinding emotion that is portrayed in a romance.
These books do not portray real life he said.
It is a fantasy world, a make believe world with made up emotions.
As its name implies it is fiction.
But real life is different.
And then as a father to a daughter he began to explain to me the meaning of REAL LOVE.
Love he told me, is an emotion that increases in strength throughout life.
It is sharing and caring, and respecting one another.
It is building a life together, a unit of Family and Home.
The love you feel as a young bride is only the beginning of real love.
It is through the small everyday acts of living together that love flourishes and grows.
And so the love you feel after 5 years or 10 years is a gradual strengthening of bonds.
As 2 lives unite to form one, with time, one reaches a point where each partner feels a part of the other, where each partner no longer can visualise life without their mate by their side.
Smilingly he told me to put aside my romantic notions developed by my literary involvement, and view love and marriage in a meaningful way.
I walked out of the Rebbe's office with a huge smile on my face.
The Rebbe knew how to communicate with a dreamy young girl.
He knew what to say and how to say it.
His words spoken from the heart, reverberated within my heart.'
It is also so interesting to see how The Rebbe could communicate with the same ease, to a young girl starting out in life, as he could to the greatest leaders of our generation.
