SIMPLE JOY AND MAZAL TOV

Hope everyone is well.
MAZAL TOV FOR THE UPCOMING CHASSANA OF PENINA AND AVI. MAY YOU BUILD A BINYAN ADEI AD TOGETHER WITH MUCH JOY!
WE ARE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING WITH YOU SOON IYRH!
So we have just come out from the NOISY JOY of Purim, but we are still in the month of Adar, and of course we still have IYrH further celebrations to look forward to this Month!
BUT THERE IS ALSO A QUIET SIMPLE JOY WHICH WE HAVE NOT YET MENTIONED, AND THIS JOY RUNS VERY DEEP AND IS ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE EVERY DAY, AND MANY TIMES PER DAY.
The Rebbe has described this on one occasion as the JOY OF WATER, as compared to the JOY OF WINE.
In both Sefer Vayikra which we are reading now, and the current Rambam which we are learning (1 Chapter per day), we have been learning about the various Korbanos (Offerings in the Temple)
The Wine Offering was poured every day on the Mizbeach in the Temple, and the Water Offering was poured every year on Sukkos.
In fact todays Rambam discussed some aspects of both these Offerings!
In this sicha, the Rebbe discusses the difference between the Joy of Wine and the Joy of Water.
Wine has nice taste and many varieties of taste, and also has the power to make one feel good and release ones Base Emotions.
Water is completely different.
There is no taste, and no emotions, but there is no drink quite like water to really satisfy our thirst.
And it is said about the Joy of The Water Drawing on Sukkos - 'He who has not seen the joy of simchas beis hashoeva on Sukkos HAS NEVER SEEN TRUE JOY'
And what is the meaning of this Joy of Water?
The Rebbe explains that it is simply doing a Mitzva, even if one does not understand it, simply for Hashem. Just because Hashem has asked us to do it.
This brings about the SIMPLE JOY OF CONNECTION.
And so we give Penina and Avi the Brocha to have both!
Getting married is a Mitzva and you can experience this (and any Mitzva) with the Joy of Water and Wine.
