THE WORLD IS ONE DAY OLD
Dear Family
Hope everyone is well.
BH a number of birthdays this week
Mazal Tov to Batsheva on her birthday today!
Mazal Tov to Miriam Brocha for her birthday next week.
And on the same day as Miriam, is Nechama's birthday next week. Mazal Tov Nechama.
Wishing you all lots of happiness.
And welcome back everyone from their Pesach travels , about which I had amazing reports BH!
It already feels like Pesach was a few weeks ago but really this is just the first week since Pesach.
What stands out in my mind, which I heard on the last day of Yom Tov was a stunning Vort from The Rebbe.
It was quoted from his Reshimos.
These are personal, hand written notes written by The Rebbe, found fairly recently, and these have now been printed.
The Reshima which was quoted was related to the last day of Pesach, in relation to mayim shelanu, where the Rebbe states that according to Torah the world is 6000 plus years old (now 6776).
But really THE WHOLE HISTORY OF THE WORLD IS ALL FOUND IN TODAY ALONE!!!
In other words there is no yesterday, and anything to do with yesterday is connected to impurity.
TODAY IS WHERE IT IS ALL HAPPENING.
I found this to be an amazing Truth, if one thinks about it, and it reminded me of similar statements from the Rambam in the Halachos of Sefer Hamada (The Book of Knowledge) Hilchos Teshuva Chap 5:
'Freewill is granted to all men (people).
If one desires to turn himself to the path of Good and righteous, the choice is his.
Should he desire to turn himself to the path of evil and be wicked, the choice is his....
There is no one who can prevent him from doing good or bad......
Each person is fit to be righteous as Moshe Rabeinu or as wicked as Jeroboam.
Similarly he may be wise or foolish, merciful or cruel, miserly or generous, or acquire any other character traits.
There is no one who compels him, sentences him or leads him towards either of these 2 Paths.
Rather he on his own INITIATIVE and decision, tends to the Path that he chooses'.
Wishing everyone a Gut Shabbos and the FREEDOM to focus in to the moment of TODAY with all its potential.
'5 Minues per week' Rambam for this week is in Sefer Avodah, Hilchos Psulei Hamikdashim, Chaps 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 - PAGE 23
