Dear Family,

Hope everyone is well.

Mazal Tov Shmuly on passing a big exam. Michayil el Chayil.

Similarly, Mazal Tov to Hirshy on passing his difficult exam. Keep advancing Hirshy.

A friend of mine reminded me last week that on Rosh Chodesh, one should learn ones Tehillim (Psalm) with Rashi or other Commentators.

It is a custom to read one's own Tehillim every day, which is the one just ahead of one's age.

So one of the Tehillim that I do every day is my own, which is no. 67 (so now you know my age!)

And so this last week, on Rosh Chodesh, I learnt my Psalm.

Now this is the first time that I have actually learnt my Tehilim and tried to understand it, and it proved to be very interesting.

We all say this kapitel every day in shacharis just before Baruch sheamar, and we also say it on each of the 49 days of sefira.

And listen to the explanation Art Scroll gives about this psalm:

'The Holy One Blessed be He revealed this extraordinary Psalm to Moshe and later to David.

Both men were granted A HOLY VISION IN WHICH THIS PSALM WAS ENGRAVED ON A SHEET OF THE PUREST GOLD WHICH WAS FASHIONED IN THE SHAPE OF A 7 BRANCHED MENORAH.

David etched this psalm onto his shield so that he could read it before going into battle, which assured him of victory (Chida)

Now take note that this Psalm has 7 VERSES (besides the introductory phrase), and 49 WORDS !!! (7 branched Menorah and 49 days of Sefira between Pesach and Shavuos).

Avodas Hakodesh says that whoever concentrates on the MENORAH while reciting this Psalm daily is considered as if he actually lit the Menorah in the Beit Hamikdash and such a person is surely destined to inherit The World To Come.

Whoever recites the Psalm in this fashion will surely be safe-guarded from all evil and enjoy great success!

This coming Motzei Shabbos is Tisha Beav, which is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, and is the day when both Temples were destroyed, and many other tragedies.

However it is also said that on the Shabbos before this day (ie this Shabbos), every Jew also receives a flash VISION OF THE THIRD AND FINAL BEIS HAMIKDASH.

That is why it is called Shabbos Chazon THE SHABBOS OF VISION!

Wishing everyone a Gut and Happy Shabbos and the Vision to actually see the Third Beis Hamikdash (and the Menorah) and it should be rebuilt in our days.
