A LOVING JUDGE
Dear Family,
Hope everyone is well.
Mazal Tov to Chava on her birthday today. And wishing you a safe flight Chava. Looking forward to seeing you.
Mazal Tov to Daniel Yitzchok on his birthday WHICH IS ON ROSH HASHANA!, and which is also the birthday of the whole of mankind. We love you Daniel.
Today is now the Yohrtzeit of my mother, and I wish Chanan and Reuven long life.
IyrH I will be going to the Beis Olam tomorrow, and I will have everyone in mind.
I remember so clearly how she knew she was passing away, and recognised that it was Erev ROSH HASHANA without looking at the calendar.
We wish her Neshama to have an Aliya, and thank her for all she gave us.
A snippet from a talk by Rabbi Yossi Jacobson came to my ears while I was in the car this week which was very interesting.
The subject was about a person who was saying that they dread Rosh Hashana because of the fear of being judged, and that they really do not look forward to this time of the year.
Does this sound familiar?
And I really liked his answer.
He said that being judged on Rosh Hashana is not like being judged by another person, or a Judge or a Prime Minister, or a King
Our Judge on Rosh Hashana knows us better than ourselves.
He knows every tiny intricate functioning of our whole being, physical, emotional, intellect, every thought, and all our drives and intentions, loves and fears.
AND HE LOVES US MORE THAN WE LOVE OURSELVES, 'HE LOVES US TO BITS'
When we judge ourselves, we always judge favourably
How much more so when Hashem judges us !!
AND SO WE SHOULD REALLY GO INTO ROSH HASHANA WITH MUCH JOY, BEING OPEN TO HASHEM WITH A FULL HEART, AND WITH A MASSIVE GRATITUDE THAT HE HAS GIVEN US THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAND BEFORE HIM AND BE JUDGED, AND SERVE HIM WITH A FULL HEART.
Wishing everyone a Gut Shabbos and a Shana Tova, with Good that even we recognise as Good.
