LIVING IN THE MOMENT
Dear Family,
I hope everyone is well.
And for those who participated in Yud Tes Kislev activities, I hope they were inspiring.
.
We attended a beautiful event in London where Rabbi Yossi Jacobson gave a remarkable 2 hour talk, where he linked The Alte Rebbe, Channukah, and the parsha Vayeshev in such a beautiful way. It was an amazing event, attended by such a wide spectrum of Jews, and so many, all coming together to celebrate, listen and sing and dance together BH.
This week, I also registered for that talk on 'meditation' which I mentioned last week, and it is some aspects of this talk, by Rabbi Adam Stein, which I would like to share.
By the way, it is an online course and one can still catch up part one and the rest of the course at Chabad.org. it will also always be available there in the future.
And so the essence of what is being spoken about is how to REDUCE STRESS, and how this is achieved, by learning how to LINK-IN TO THE PRESENT MOMENT.
Worry and stress are caused mostly by past failures and disappointments, and fear of the future.
By homing into the PRESENT, the past and the future start to drift away to various degrees, depending on how effectively one can tune in to the present.
These days there are thousands, and more like millions of people using stress relieving techniques such as yoga, meditation and dozens of other techniques. Most of them are not kosher.
The technique described by Rabbi Stein is an AUTHENTIC TORAH APPROACH, and has existed and been accessible to us for centuries. It is markedly different from these other techniques.
For someone who has explored the meditation routes, it is very exciting for me to see and access our own Torah way, which I can see, is so much more real.
How to do this:
The first stage is to practice focusing on a concept, which will create a deep connection to the idea, which will lead us to home into our own Essence, which is our G-dly Essence. We then become united with this Essence.
And as a fringe benefit, we achieve a worry-free, and stress-free life.
This is accessible for everyone, no matter what our emotional or intellectual levels are.
For the actual details, it would be better to hear this direct from Rabbi Stein himself.
