SONG AND JOY
Dear Family,
I hope everyone is well.
Mazal Tov to Avi and Penina on moving in to your new home in Tarzana BH. And in the same week when you got engaged 2 years ago BH! It should be with much mazal and joy AND MUSIC AND SONG.
I saw a nice vort from The Rebbe this week on the concept of Cnaan.
In this week's sedra, Vaeira, it says 'I (Hashem) established my covenant with Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov to give them the Land of Cnaan.'
Cnaan becomes Eretz Yisrael. (it was called Cnaan before it became Eretz Yisrael)
Similarly Cnaan refers to a Jew's state before he starts his service to Hashem.
And Similarly, Cnaan represents all lands outside of Eretz Yisrael.
Once we start keeping Torah and Mitzvos, we make ourselves more receptive to sanctity.
And we make the land where we are living, more receptive to sanctity.
And we eventually transform ourselves and the land where we live, into a place of overt holiness.
THE WORD CNAAN TELLS US HOW THIS SHOULD BE DONE.
WITH SONG AND JOY.
Because Cnaan is an acronym for:
Kinor - a harp
Naim - pleasant
Im - with
Navel - a lyre (Tehilim 81:3)
- Representing song and joy.
In addition, the service of transforming the mundane into holiness, with joy, will bring about the Final Redemption, when we will merit the TEN STRINGED HARP of redemption. (Tehillim 92:4)
This is also referring to the corresponding expanded territory of the ten Nations of Cnaan, which Hashem has promised to give us in the future.
Gut Shabbos to all.
