JOY - MUSIC OF THE TEMPLE - THE HARP OF DAVID HAMELECH
📎 This letter has an attachment (shown below the letter)
Dear Family,
I hope everyone is well.
Mazal Tov to Sarita on her birthday tomorrow. Love you Sarita, and hope you are doing well in Australia!
Mazal Tov to Roy (Cobb) who also has a birthday next week. Wishing you a year of good health and nachas from all your Family.
And some other news from the Cobb Family, I would like to welcome Adam Frankel to our weekly Family email. Adam is the grandson of Renee and Roy, and he lives with his Family in Far Rockaway NY. He has joined us at a few of the Family weddings, and so some of us may have already met him. Welcome Adam!
I would like to continue with the theme of the JOY OF ADAR, and am going to keep the words minimal.
In Chumash (this week’s parsha is Tetzaveh) we are learning all about the Mishkan (the mini, mobile Temple constructed by Mosheh), and for those learning one chapter a day of Rambam, we are learning all the Laws of the Bet Hamikdash (permanent Temple)
We recently learnt in chap 3 of Hilchot Klei Hamikdash (the Vessels of the Mikdash), about the MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS THAT WERE USED IN THE BET HAMIKDASH, and I found some beautiful videos, showing and explaining these BH!
This week we can look at the harp, which in Hebrew is a נבל.
If you move these letters around you get לב (heart) נ (50), which Rabbi David Louis explains beautifully below.
This will also be very interesting for those interested in music, because at the end he explains all the chords.
Enjoy!!

I hope to look at some more of the musical instruments in the coming weeks
Attached is part of my summary of Mishneh Torah showing the instruments that were used in the Bet Hamikdash, for those who may be interested.
Gut Shabbos and a happy Adar to all.
