BH, so many Mazal Tov's. Wishing for continued growth for everyone in the Family and extended Family BEH.

This week's Sedra is Emor, which means to SPEAK

In an extract from a sicha (Likutei Sichos vol 27), the Rebbe explains as follows:

Torah mainly uses 2 words for speaking

1. Dibur - Hard and straight speech with a very pointed delivery of a message
2. Amirah - SOFT SPEECH. This is where the speech is tailored to the recipient to ensure that it is indeed received, and clearly understood.

Our Sedra starts off using the term emor regarding the Priests duty to educate their children

THIS TEACHES US THAT WE MUST EDUCATE PRIMARILY WITH SOFT SPEECH.

Later in the Sedra Hashem turns to Laws relating to the Priests, and here the term dibur is used.

(Again by matan Torah, the term emor and dibur are used and Rashi there says that dibur was used for the men, and emor referred to the women.)

The Rebbe adds that the soft speech used by the Kohanim in educating their children has a lesson for all of us.

Whenever we see in someone else (child or adult) a behaviour or attitude that needs correction or inspiration, we are immediately given the responsibility of educator, AND IN ALL SUCH CASES WE MUST REMEMBER HASHEMS INSTRUCTION TO MAKE EXCLUSIVE USE OF SOFT SPEECH.

Gut Shabbos to all.
