Shabbos 2019-10-19 is Sukkos (no weekly parsha in the diaspora); filed under Yom Tov.

Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well and having a wonderful Sukkos!

And I hope that Joy is recovering well.

Over the last 2 weeks we spoke about the joy of movement and taking steps.

Then we spoke about 'running the marathon.'

AND NOW IS COMING UP THE TIME FOR DANCING!

Rabbi Shalom DovBer Schneersohn, the fifth Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch, stated:

'The two days of Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah are very precious. The 48 hours of Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah should be highly treasured. Every moment is an opportunity to draw bucket- and barrel-fulls of material and spiritual treasures. And this is accomplished through dancing.' - Sefer Hamaamorim 5711.

The Rebbe explains the power of dancing in a Sicha from Vol 2 of Likutei Sichos:

On Shemini Atzeres and Simchas Torah all Jews dance, whether one is a great sage or a simple person.

All are dancing together and rejoicing with the Torah.

We are dancing with our feet, the lowest part of the body, and not with our heads.

And the Sefer Torah is covered, and we can't even see what is written there.

And on these days we don't sit down to learn.

We are all equal.

Each one of us, no matter what our level, even if we do not yet know what is Hashem, and even if we do not yet learn Torah, we do know, that Hashem and the Torah are very precious.

And we understand this until the point that we know that there is nothing more precious in the whole world.

It is this understanding which brings about a great joy, and causes us to dance with the Sefer Torah with a JOY THAT HAS NO LIMIT!

Gut Moed, Gut Shabbos, and Gut Yom Tov!
