Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well.

Mazal Tov to Devorah Leah for her birthday on Shabbos. Wishing you a happy year with blessings in both the physical and spiritual, and many new developments BEH.

I saw 2 interesting items this week which were connected.

The first I heard from Rabbi Y Gordon on this week's Parshah, Devarim.

The last of the 5 Books of Moses is Devarim, and it is all oabout Mosheh speaking in the first person, giving a resume of all the events that Bnei Yisral encountered etc.

It covers the last 36 days of Mosheh's life from the 1st of Shvat in the 40th year of leaving Mitzraim, when Mosheh gathered the whole Nation together, until the 7th of Adar, when he passed away.

33 days later, on the 10th of Nissan, Bnei Yisrael crossed the Yarden into Eretz Yisrael.

And isn't it interesting that the gematria of the very first word of the Sedra, Eileh, is 36!!

So is the Book of Devarim just an add-on to the other 4 Books?

It is actually a higher level than the others, because in Devarim, Hashem is speaking directly through the throat of Mosheh, to Bnei Yisrael, with no intermediary!

And how does this apply to us?

I saw another article from the Book Chovev Halevavos, titled FOLLOWING THE CLUES.

A person who trusts in Hashem will do whatever is possible according to his specific situation.

Thereafter, if he encounters a situation where his path is blocked and he cannot do anything, he takes this as a sign that nothing is expected of him further in that situation.

When he is faced with a decision, he will decide based on the information available, without concern for the outcome

Since everything is in Hashem's Hands, he is only acting because of His command, on a path which seems the most plausible.

And this is the path on which he is being guided from above , to choose.

Gut Shabbos to all, with a real vision of the Third and Final Beit HaMikdash.
