We wish everyone who is travelling for Yom Tovim, safe and healthy trips.
Todays Hayom Yom speaks about Rosh Hashanah, which is also connected to this weeks Sedra, Nitzavim:
The Alte Rebbe related that when he was in Mezeritch, he heard from his Rebbe, the Magid, in the name of the Baal Shem Tov, that the seventh month (Tishrei), first of the months of the year (marking the years since Creation), is blessed by G-d himself on Shabbat Mevarichim - the last Shabbat in the month of Elul. With this power, israel blesses the other months 11 times per year. (In the festival Calender, the first month of the year is Nissan, when Pesach occurs)
It is written (in this weeks Sedra 'Atem nitzavim hayom' - You stand this day.
'This day' refers to Rosh Hashanah, which is the day of Judgement. -Iyov 2:1
And you remain 'STANDING FIRMLY', AND UPRIGHT - meaning you will be vindicated in judgement.
Because Hashem has already blessed the month of Tishrei, and this blessing then spreads to all the months of the year.
The Hebrew word for 7 (the 7th month) is sheva, which has the same root as sova (satiated)
And so the 7th month Tishrei is satiated, and it in turn satiates all Israel - with an abundance of good for the duration of the coming year.
May this be for all of us!
Shabbat Shalom to all and Shanah Tovah!
