THE BLESSING OF CHILDREN
Dear Family,
I hope everyone is well.
Mazal Tov To Reuven on his upcoming birthday. Wishing you a healthy, happy year Reuven with continued growth and activity.
Mazal Tov To Perry whose birthday is one day difference from his father. Wishing you an amazing year, especially with your upcoming wedding and new partner BEH, and wishing the whole Family many celebrations.
Mazal Tov to Gavriel, whose birthday just squeezes in at the end of the week. Wishing you to go from strength to strength with your very good learning in both secular and Torah studying, and with much happiness.
I saw an interesting lesson about CHILDREN that we can learn from our Parshah for this week, Vayetze, from a sichah of the Rebbe (Sichos Kodesh 5740 Vol. 3 - as adapted by Daily Wisdom Vol 2)
It says in V 29:33 that "(Leah) again conceived and had a son"
Even after Leah had already been blessed with children, she still considered each additional child an additional blessing.
The Torah teaches us that our ability to love, expands according to the number of our children.
And similarly there is an increase in our Divine blessings of sustenance and livelihood.
Thus the more children we have, the more attention, and material benefits we can give to each.
The story of Leah is one of the numerous places in the Torah which emphasises the beauty and blessing inherent in the birth of each additional child.
Each child is a unique reflection of G-d's image, and has a unique contribution to make, both to our lives and to our Divine mission.
Gut Shabbos to all!
