PATHS OF TESHUVAH
Dear Family,
Renee is back home from hospital but is in a critical condition, and we need to continue saying Tehillim for her - Rivkah bat Sarah Zlata
We are now in the Aseres yemei TESHUVAH - The ten days of Teshuvah between, and including, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
I saw an interesting analysis of Teshuvah in the current Hayom Yom Teachings, where the Tsadik Reb Meshullam Zusya of Hanipoli, a disciple of The Magid of Mezeritch, divided out 5 components of Teshuvah by using the 5 letters of the word Teshuva.
For each letter, he chose a pasuk starting with that letter, which describes 5 different PATHS OF TESHUVAH
The one that attracted me which I wanted to share was the vav of TeshUvah, and the pasuk that he used was - Veahavtah lereacha kamocha - Love your fellow as yourself.
The Rebbe Rashab explains (in summary) how this third approach is linked to Teshuvah:
Fulfilling this mitzvah is a medium for attaining the level of Loving Hashem.
It also underlies the principle, that 'anyone, with whom his fellowmen are pleased, Hashem is pleased with him.'
To love your fellow as yourself is the path of Teshuvah that comes from a good heart.
Wishing everyone a Gut Shabbos and a Gmar Chasima Tovah for a Good New Year!
