Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well, and wishing Brian a continued recovery.

I would like to welcome my cousin Zelda Marks to our Family email group. Zelda is the daughter of Uncle Morris Davidoff ah, who we featured 2 weeks ago, and the mother of Kevin, who wrote that article about Uncle Morris, and is also on this Group. Zelda recently lost her husband Stan ah, and we wish her whole Family long life. She lives in Sydney Australia and is in touch with Baty there. Welcome Zelda! So nice to be in touch again after so many years, and wishing you only happy occasions in the future.

I was thinking that it would be nice if we could make a Family Tree of the members in this Group, so that everyone can know who is who.

Batsheva is good at this. Would you be able to do this Batsheva?

This week's Chumash Sedra is Mishpatim, and mishpatim means Laws.

There are many laws listed out one after the other, in fact 53 Mitzvos are listed out.

In relation to this I saw 2 nice connected vorts (aphorisms) in this week's 'Hayom Yom' (- Compiled and arranged by the Rebbe from talks and letters of the Frierdike Rebbe.)

First:

There are 2 kinds of laws

1. Laws that generate life
2. Laws that result from life

Man-made laws result from life. That is why they differ in every country, each according to it's local circumstances.

G-d's Torah is the Divine Law that generates life. It is 'the Torah of Truth' - the same in all places and at all times. The Torah is eternal.

Second:

Studying a passage of Chumash every day with the commentary of Rashi (reading the first aliyah of the upcoming Shabbos, on Sunday, the second on Monday and so on).. must be carefully observed.

Doing so impacts the individual, his children, and his grandchildren.

Wishing all a Gut Shabbos!
