Text mentions "this week's Sedra, Mishpatim" but cites a Devarim verse; kept under the calendar parsha Shoftim.

Dear Family,

I hope that everyone is well.

Mazal Tov to Shmuly and Devorah Leah on their Wedding Anniversary today. Wishing you many more years of continued achievement together and with much joy.

Mazal Tov to Zalmy on landing his first Law job in the USA. This is an amazing achievement Zalmy and we all wish you much continued success!

I saw a nice Rashi in this week's Sedra, Mishpatim, (Devarim 18:13)

The subject being discussed is worrying about the future.

And Torah instructs us, "Tamim tihyeh...You should be simple and sincere with Hashem.."

Rashi explains - Walk with Him with simplicity and without guile. Put your hope with Him, and do not delve into the future. Rather, accept wholeheartedly whatever He brings upon you, with perfect faith. Then He will be with you, and you will reap the rewards of His apportioning."

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is a known time of the year when Hashem apportions out to us, our allocations for the upcoming year.

And Elul is the time when we make our preparations for this.

It is an auspicious time to take an accounting of the past year and take steps to correct where necessary.

The sound of the shofar is a wake up call.

Although we are assured, that in the month of Elul Hashem is close and accessible to our requests, we nevertheless need to make our own efforts to increase in our Service of Hashem. - (Shulchan Aruch)

We also wish each other blessings, and these exchanges increase the blessings that Hashem bestows on Klal Yisrael. (Minhagei Chabad)

Gut Shabbos. Gut Chodesh. And wishing everyone a kesivah vechasimah tovah for a shanah tovah umesukah - That we should be written and signed for a good and sweet New Year!
