AMAZING STORY FROM THE WAR
Dear Family,
I hope that everyone is well.
Mazal Tov to Daniella Jacobs (nee Davidoff) on her English birthday next week. Wishing you much continued achievement Dani in both gashmius and ruchnius, with much joy!
Wishing Rahel long life for her father, whose yohrtzeit is next week, and who was fondly known as Pepe ah by all. His neshamah should have an Aliyah.
Wishing long life to Sid and Brian on the yohrtzeit of Auntie Lottie ah, next week. Her neshamah should have an Aliyah. We were all so fond of Aunty Lottie and of course also thinking of Renee ah whom we miss very much.
I would also like to remember a friend of our Family, Shimon Pilsner ah, whose yohrtzeit is on the same day as Pepe. His neshamah should have an Aliyah.
This coming Shabbos marks the start of a new cycle of learning of Rambam's (Maimonides) famous Mishneh Torah
In relation to this, I saw an amazing story from the war in Eretz Yisrael which I wanted to share.
Besides being extremely emotional, I feel that the story brings out many deep life-lessons.
- see link below.
The Rebbe started the campaign to learn Rambam in 1984.
The Mishneh Torah covers the whole breadth and probably also the whole depth of Torah Law.
The Rebbe set out this Project so that everyone, even children, could be learning the whole of Torah, and doing this learning together, bringing about a deep unity with Jews all over the world.
For the learned, there is the 3 chapters a day schedule to cover the 1000 chapters of Mishneh Torah in just under 1 year.
For those with less time there is a cycle learning 1 chapter a day, over a 3 year period.
And for those with even less time and capability, they could learn just the Mitzvos that are linked to the 1 year cycle.
Batsheva has made a brilliant time table schedule for the daily learning for each of these 3 groups on my Rambam website - https://rambampress.com/daily-study/
And I am attaching a summary which I made, which will allow everyone to learn with Group 3 above , in English, and should take literally 5 minutes a day or less. As follows:
Use the Schedule called "New 'Studying Rambam' - 3 Chapters a Day. 1st March 25 - 2nd Feb 26" in the link above.
Start from Wednesday March 5th on p22 of the attached Concise Summary, and do the first 3 chapters in the Book of Knowledge as per schedule.
A hard copy of the Concise Summary is available on Amazon if needed and I would be happy to help anyone who is interested to join the learning.
Enjoy the attached Story and Rambam learning!
