Dear Family,

I hope that everyone is well.

Refuah shlemah for Yechezkiel ben Ester.

Mazal Tov to Leslie Hyman on her upcoming birthday next week. Wishing you a wonderful year Leslie with much joy! I hope all is going well with you.

Also coming up next week is the yohrtzeit of Uncle Morris. I am actually in NY at the moment but I would have loved to have posted the article which Kevin wrote about him. Maybe you could post this Kevin? It gives a good historical background to some of our Davidoff history. Wishing Uncle Morris's neshamah an Aliyah, and remembering him with much fondness.

It was lovely meeting Dovi and Shlomo (Levy) for dinner tonight in NY!

I saw an interesting letter from the Rebbe this week, which was linked to a verse in this week's Sedra Shoftim (V18:13) - You shall be whole-hearted with Hashem your G-d.

Rashi comments on this verse - Follow him with perfect faith and put your hope in him, and do not delve into the future. Rather, whatever happens to you, accept with perfect faith..

In the letter, the Rebbe responded about the subject of FAITH and WORRYING:

There are 2 options to see the fulfillment of blessing

  • Or to walk around worried in case the blessing wont be fulfilled.

And then, when the blessing is fulfilled, there will be the fresh worry of why did I waste so much time and energy worrying for nothing!

  • Or to be staunch in one's trust and faith in Hashem that He will lead one along the correct path and fulfill all blessings.

Then when one sees the blessings being fulfilled one will be able to recognize how well one succeeded, about not worrying where there was no cause for concern, and seeing the strength of one's faith.

Gut Shabbos, and wishing everyone a Kesivah Vechasimah Tovah for a Good and Sweet New Year
