Text says "this week's Sedra Vayakhel", but the dvar Torah (Moshe raising the Mishkan) is from Pekudei, the calendar parsha; kept under Pekudei.

Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well.

Mazal Tov Chana Lieba on your birthday today. Wishing you a happy year.

Mazal tov to the Jacobs Family. I heard that Mariasha's brother started putting on Tefillin today.

Welcome back Pesach and Miriam who were away travelling.

I want to thank Shmueli Bassin very warmly for dedicating a set of Rambam to his Shul in memory of my father AH. I was very touched and I am sure Chanan and Reuven will also be.

And last but not least we wish Mommy long life for the Yohrtzeit of Pepe AH. We remember him with fond memories. His neshama should have an aliyah.

We are still in Adar trying to be BESIMCHA each day in preparation for Purim, and the entertainment for this week is THE JOY OF STRENGTH.

The video clip below is about 2 Lubavitch bochurim (French twins) performing in front of the Satmer Rebbe and his Chassidim.

ENJOY!

An interesting point about STRENGTH came up in this week's Sedra Vayakhel.

Bnei Yisrael had finished all the work of constructing all the parts of the Mishkan, and they brought it to Moshe.

Why did they bring it to Moshe?

Rashi tells us that no man was able to erect it because of the weight of the beams, for no man had the strength to stand them up.

But Moshe had the STRENGTH, and he raised them up.

Actually even although Moshe was really very powerful he also could not do it, and he said to Hashem, 'How is it possible for a man to erect the Mishkan?'

Hashem then told him ' Busy your hands with the job' (ie even though it looks impossible, go forward and put your hands to it)

And the beams stood up. (and it appeared as if Moshe had lifted them)

How do we know this?

Because the posuk says 'The mishkon was erected' (it does not say Moshe erected it)

The obvious lesson is that strength is not only physical.

Sometimes a task may seem impossible, but if we take the first step to engage, we may find that it actually becomes possible.

RAMBAM 5 minutes per week.

The 7 Chapters for this week are Sefer Avodah, Hilchos Beis Habechira Chaps 7 and 8.

And Hilchos Klei Hamikdash Vehaovdim Bo Chaps 1,2,3,4 and 5. - PAGE
