We have now come out of the 3 weeks of mourning, and I thought it would be nice to have some entertainment this week, especially that I also saw a link to this in the week’s parshah Vaeschanan.
It was based on a summary of a sicha of The Rebbe, where the Rebbe explained about TRUE INDIVIDUALITY as follows:
One might think that the more we keep Torah and mitzvos, the more our personal individuality disappears.
But Torah in this weeks parshah teaches us that the opposite is true – our true individuality depends directly on the depth of our attachment to Hashem.
The mistake arises because we associate our personality, with what we see around us in the rest of the world, and which we share with the rest of humanity, but this is really only our secondary animalistic side.
Therefore the personality or talents that we glean from here comes from a common and limited potential, from which the whole world draws and lives.
On the other hand when we address our personality from a Divine potential , then we touch on areas of infinity, and here we tap into areas of our personality which make us truly unique.
The more we allow the animalistic parts of our personality to dissolve as we draw closer to Hashem, the more we allow our unique Divine personality to shine forth, WHICH IS UNIQUE TO OURSELVES AND LINKED TO INFINITY.
The above was based on the posuk ‘You who are clinging to Hashem your G-d, are all living today.’
So this weeks ‘Living Torah’ reflected this message, and then I saw an article in The Times of Israel about Shulem Lemmer, a Belzer chosid with a beautiful voice, who has been signed up to a major record label with Decca Gold, part of the prestigious music group Universal Music in NY.
