THE CURE FOR ENVY

Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well.

Just a short vort this week that I saw from the Rebbe on one of the 10 Commandments, which we have in this week's Sedra Yisro. (Hisvaaduyot 5742, Vol 3 p1661)

The Command was 'Lo sachmod bes reecha....' (you must not desire the house of your fellow...etc)

Hashem provides each one of us with all the resources we will need to fulfil our own unique mission in life. (possessions, talents, strengths etc)

We each achieve our fulfilment by dedicating these resources to our Divine mission.

Any resources which Hashem has not provided us with, at any given moment, are thus not necessary for fulfilling our mission.

Not only are they not necessary, but if we desire and pursue them, this will side-track us, and prevent us from reaching our own full potential.

Reflecting on this truth will cure us of any envy.
