Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well.

Mazal Tov to Roy Cobb on his SECOND BARMITZVAH this Shabbos! This means that one counts the years after one’s 70th birthday as ‘extra years’ and Roy has now turned 70 plus 13. Wishing you many more healthy and happy years Roy. Enjoy your big celebration this Shabbos and I hope you still remember your original Barmitzvah Maftir and Haftarah, and I believe you are also repeating your Barmitzvah speech! So nice!

Mazal Tov to Kerry Lee on your birthday tomorrow. It is so nice having you together with us on the group. Wishing you a very happy and successful year.

Following, next week is Anette Davidoff birthday. Mazal Tov Chana Lieba! Thinking of you all in Boston and wishing you a happy year with many simchos.

Mazal Tov Devorah Leah for the baby born to your sister Rivka! This is really a double simcha in the Family because Rivkah is married to Mendel Sarfati, who is Mommy’s nephew. (Meyer’s son). Only simchas for everyone!

And it feels like Yom Tov here in London with Pesach, Chanie and all their children here with us in London for a visit BH.

In this weeks sedra Pekudei, the construction of the MISHKAN is completed, and the Midrash links this to the pasuk from Mishlei ‘Strength and splendour are her clothing, AND SHE LAUGHS AT THE FINAL DAY – oz vehadar levushah, vatischak leyom acharon – we say this in eshes chayil on Friday nights.

And this also fits into the theme of being HAPPY throughout the 60 days of Adar aleph and Adar beis this year.

The explanation is as follows:

ONE WHO WORKS TO IMPROVE HIMSELF DURING HIS YOUTH AND ADULTHOOD CAN ENJOY THE SPIRITUAL REWARDS OF RICH SENIOR YEARS.

Ie The First Bet Hamikdash refers to our young years of spiritual strength – OZ

THE Second Bet Hamikdash, refers to our later years of splendour – HADAR.

These are essential for our ability to enjoy the rich rewards of the Third Bet Hamikdash in the end of days

The completion of The Mishkan, far from being temporary and futile, was indispensable to the eternal Mikdash of Mashiach!

And to continue with entertainment featuring the instruments played in the Bet Hamikdash, this week we have the chatzotzrot ie trumpets (or some such similar wind instrument)

(interestingly Purim has a connection to Yom Kippur. – Kippur is explained as ke (like) Purim. (We may get to explain this another time)
