In continuation from last week, where we were discussing elements of the month from Sefer Yetzirah, the month of Adar is connected with THE HEBREW LETTER KUF.
Kuf symbolises:
1. A monkey
2. Masquerade
3. The eye of a needle.
The monkey refers to laughter
Masquerade is an accepted custom on Purim where we hide our true identity Similarly Hashem hides his identity in the Megillah, where His Name does not even appear once. But by hiding ones identity, and pretending to be someone else, the innermost essence of one's true self becomes revealed at a very high level.
Our Sages teach us, that even in our most irrational of dreams, we would not see an 'elephant passing through the eye of a needle'. But on Purim one can experience this great wonder!
Mr Bean is a famous English comedian.
So as an introduction to Purim, see if you can get used to his humour - a real nutter!!
Gut Shabbos and a HAPPY PURIM TO ALL
