POWERFUL WORDS
Dear Family,
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer (and winter in Au and SA!)
So exciting to see some of the children going away on their first sleep-away Summer Camps, and parents accompanying them on flights - Mendel to NY, Gavriel to Florida, and Esther will be staying local in the Uk. Enjoy!
Mazal Tov Chava on passing your exams in your ongoing studies. Well done, and for all the other good works that you are doing. Michayil el Chayil!
In this weeks Sedra Vaeschanan, certain parts of the simple text stood out so strong, that I thought I would like to share this, for reflection, in the week when we hear again the 10 Commandments at Har Sinai.
V 4:32 - 34 Mosheh speaking, "Ask now about earlier times that were before you, from the day that Hahem created man on earth, and ask every being that exists, from one end of the heavens to the other: Was there ever at another time, anything like this great thing, or was something like it ever heard of? Did another people hear the voice of G-d speaking from the fire as you heard it, and remain alive. Or did any god perform such miracles, to come and take for himself one nation from the midst of another nation, with trials, signs, wonders and battle, with mighty force, extended power and great manifestations, like everything the Eternal your G-d did for you in Mitzrayim before your eyes?!
"These words The Eternal spoke to your entire congregation at the mountain, from within the fire, the cloud and the thick cloud, with a great voice that did not cease...." 5:19
"And you did not see any image" 4:15 (with all the above events)
"Be careful that you do not forget.." 4:23
"You shall realize it today, and impress it upon your heart, that it is The Eternal Who is G-d in the heaven above and on the earth below. You shall keep His statutes and commandments that I am commanding you today, so that it be well with you and with your children after you, and in order that you may live a long time...." 4:39-40
Gut Shabbos to all.
