Mazal tov to Zeevi on his birthday next week. Wishing you a happy year Zeevi, and you should also give much nachas to your parents.

I saw a beautiful analogy in this week's Tanya which I would like to share. (Chap 42 in Likkutei Amarim)

The topic was EMUNAH (FAITH).

The word Emunah is derived from the Hebrew word for a craftsman (uman) and this implies TRAINING (TO REACH A FEAR OF G-D), because a craftsmen reaches a high level of expertise in his or her field, by training and constant dedicated practicing.

The analogy given is that of a king.

The fear of a king is not related to his body or clothing.

Because when the king is sleeping, there is no fear of him no matter how many garments he is wearing, or even naked.

Therefore the fear of the king comes from his inner essence and vitality.

This inner essence is not visible to the physical eye. It is only visible to the eyes of our mind.

Similarly we must feel this fear of G-d when we gaze with our physical eyes at the heavens and the earth and all that they contain, with our minds seeing the inner essence and power of G-d the King.

The essential point is the TRAINING, to habituate one's mind and thought continuously, to understand that everything that one sees (the heavens and the earth and all that they contain), constitutes the outer garments of the King, the Holy One Blessed be He.

In this way we will constantly remember the inwardness and vitality, which is G-dliness.

Wishing everyone a Gut Shabbos and a Gut Chodesh
