Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well and getting ready for Shavuos.

I would like to welcome two new Family members to our Family email ie Mikayla (ne Koval) Davidoff now married to Perry BH, and her father Mark Koval. We heard that the wedding was a beautiful! Mazal Tov again, and so happy to have you both join with us! I will try and arrange a diagram of the members of our email group some time, as an introduction BN.

Mazal Tov to Dov Ber who is having his opsherin next week after Shavuos. We cant wait to see you as a little man Dovber. You should give your Mommy and Daddy much nachas!

Mazal Tov to Esther Miriam whose birthday is at the end of next week. Wishing you a year of continued growth and development towards being a beautiful eidelah meidelah, with much happiness!

And on the same day is the yohrtzeit of Meme, who Esher is named after. Her neshamah should have an Aliyah. And wishing long life to Mommy.

Shavuos is coming up on Sunday and is closely linked to 3 great Tzadikim in our history - Mosheh Rabeinu, the Baal Shem Tov, and Dovid HaMelech.

Mosheh Rabeinu received the Torah on Shavuot, and Shavuos is also the yohrtzeits of both Dovid HaMelech and the Baal Shem Tov (the founder of the Chassidic Movement)

The Frierdike Rebbe encouraged us to have a daily learning program of Chumash, Tanya and Tehillim (acronym ChiTaT), and we can see how this also reflects on Shavuos.

Chumash is directly connected to Mosheh Rabeinu, Tanya was authored by the Alte Rebbe representing the Chassidic teachings of the Baal Shem Tov, and Tehillim was authored by Dovid HaMelech.

Each of these books are divided into daily portions for the whole year.

And we are not going to forget about the cheese cakes!

So I thought that it would be nice to present a small element of each of these areas.

Chumash (Mosheh Rabeinu)

This week's Sedra is Bamidbar is always read before Shavuos in the calendar.

One of the lessons from this is that, it is not the case that Torah can 'also' reach those who are found in a spiritual wasteland.

On the contrary, this is a central theme of thegiving of the Torah - to transformevery spiritual desert into a civilised environment (Sicha of the Rebbe Bamidbar 5732 and 5734)

Baal Shem Tov

I saw this week from Keser Shem Tov par 89: Summarized

If by Divine Providence you see or hear something evil about your fellow, you should understand that you must also have a fault, however slight, that in some way resembles what you saw or heard about your fellow.

You should work to correct that subtle failing within yourself..even to a remote degree - which is incredibly difficult.....

Therefore when the sinful Jew serves as the impetus for your self improvement, that Jew is dragged out of his sinful state, as you spiritually elevate yourself...because all Jews combine to form a single entity.

Tehillim - Dovid Hamelech

We do not need to understand Tehillim

The Tzemach Tzedek said that if you only knew the power of the verses of Tehillim and their effect in the highest Heavens, you would recite them constantly.

Know that the chapters of Tehillim shatter all barriers.

They ascend higher and still higher with no interference.

They prostrate themselves in supplication before the Master of all worlds.

And they effect and accomplish with kindness and compassion. (Hayom Yom 22:24)

Cheese cake - Chana's Kitchen

This week I would like to feature 'Chana's Kitchen' which has become a big feature at Beis Chana, where her products are popular with the ladies activities there.

They are amazing, and each item is produced with tremendous care and individuality! See attached

Wishing you much success Channa!!

Wishing all a Gut Shabbos and a Gut Yom Tov and to receive the Torah once again afresh with joy and inwardness.
