Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well and had an enjoyable Shavuos!

Mazal Tov to Dovber on his opsherin. He looks like a little man now BH! It looked a beautiful simchah. Well done for all the hard work Mendel and Freida!

Mazal Tov to Claude and joy on the birth of a grand- daughter. Wishing you many simchos and much nachas!

In this week's Sedra Naso, we have the DEDICATION OF THE MISHKAN (Tabernacle), directly following the section of the Priestly blessing which ends with the blessing of PEACE. (end of Chap6, and start of chap 7)

The Baal Haturim makes an interesting commentary about this.

He links this connection to the Chashmonaim (Maccabees) in the Chanukah story, who also rededicated the Temple.

And points out the reason that the 2 themes of Mishkan and Peace are juxtaposed is because, in the merit of the Mishkan (or Temple) there will be peace.

He also shows how David HaMelech does the same connection in Psalms 29 and
30. Psalm 29 ends 'Hashem will give strength to His People, Hashem will bless His Nation with Peace.' And Psalm 30 starts ' A psalm, a song, for the dedication of the Temple of David.'!!

The Dedication of the Mishkan by Mosheh included each of the Heads (Nasi) of the 12 Tribes presenting their Offering on each of the 12 days of the dedication. This started on the first of Nissan, in the second year after leaving Mitzraim.

So every year, as a reminder, we say this section of Torah (called The Nasi) for the first 12 days of Nissan, after shacharit.

And this same Torah reading is always read on Chanukah!

All so neatly CONNECTED BH!

Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom, and the imminent rebuilding of the Third Temple.
