Dear Family,

I hope everyone is well.

Mazal Tov to Shmuel and Rivky on your 20th Anniversary. Wow what celebrations! Wishing you many more happy and fulfilling years together with much nachas from your children BEH

Mazal Tov to Avi and Penina on their Anniversary this coming week. Wishing you a wonderful year with continued happiness together and much nachas from your Family BEH.

Mazal Tov to Daniella and Ariel Jacobs, who both have their Hebrew birthdays this week. You should always be able to celebrate good things together, and wishing you both a wonderful year!

Hot news, just announced, that Esther Sarfati just got engaged in NY - Mazal Tov Esther, Meir and Malky!

I heard an interesting Baal Haturim from this week's Sedra, Vayakhel - Pikudei on the words "kaasher tzivah Hashem es Mosheh" - "..and they did as Hashem commanded Moshe" (in relation to building all the different items for the Mini Temple.) (V 40:21)

He points out that this phrase is mentioned 18 times, and that there is a 19th time with a slightly different format.

He equates this to the number of blessings in the Amidah prayer which originally had 18 blessings and an extra one got added by our Sages.

If you add the letters of these 18 verses which contain the words kaasher tzivah.., there are 113.

Similarly if you add the letters of each of the concluding blessings of the 18 Blessings of the Amidah, you also find 113 letters!

To develop this further, he notes that the word "LEV - HEART" is also found 113 times in the Torah!

And concludes that when one prays, one should do this with ONE'S WHOLE HEART.

I also saw a connected Dvar Torah in this week's "Farbregen" as follows:

The posuk refers to the

  • Yetzer hara as an 'OLD king' - because he attempts to dampen our excitement by portraying Mitzvos as old and outdated.
  • And the Yetzer tov as a 'poor CHILD', because he makes all the Mitzvos look YOUNG and ALIVE. He is called poor because he is HUMBLE.

By approaching Torah and Mitzvos every day with freshness and humility, one merits pleasure and joy in one's Service to Hashem (Chidushei HaRim)

Wishing everyone a Gut Shabbos!
